How To Add Google Analytics and a Facebook Pixel to your PodSpout Page
While you can certainly manage quite well with just using the free Hobby plan for your podcast promo page, our premium Business plan lets you harness the power of advanced, professional marketing tools like Google Analytics and the Facebook tracking pixel.
Our pro set of features takes the guesswork out of understanding your current audience and discovering new listeners. With your upgraded plan, you’ll be able to integrate Google Analytics to get in-depth audience insights to really learn about who your visitors are and how they prefer to engage with your content.
And adding a Facebook pixel, you can compete with the big dogs by gathering visitor data and building an audience of Facebook users who have visited your page before.
With this data, you can send targeted ads and content right to the people who have already engaged with you before. By sending enough traffic to your #podspout page with the FB pixel installed, you can even create a lookalike audience to target people with similar profiles and interests.
Adding Google Analytics
Let’s start with the Google Analytics ID. First things first, you need to log in and open the property that you want to link. If you don’t have one, you can create it now by going to the “Admin” button in the bottom left corner and then click on “Create property.”
Once the property is created, you need to find your ID. Go back to “Admin,” and then, in the second column, select “Property Settings.” The first thing listed on the new screen will be “Tracking ID” – it should be something like UA-123456789-0. Copy this ID as you will need it in PodSpout.
Adding your Facebook Pixel
The process for the Facebook pixel ID is very similar. If you don’t have a pixel created, you will see this screen. Click on “Continue Pixel Setup” to finish the process and get the required ID.
After you click on the “Continue pixel setup,” you will see this screen with multiple ways of installing the pixel. In our situation, you need to click on “Email Instructions” in the bottom right corner.
We use the email option because it’s the only one that shows the ID immediately, as in the print screen below. No need to email the instructions; copy the pixel ID.
If you already have a pixel created, then you will see something like this. Make sure you select the pixel in the top left corner and then click on the ID. It will automatically copy it to the clipboard.
Now that we have the two IDs, let’s go and add them to our page. Open your project in PodSpout and then edit the PodSpout page. Scroll down until you find the Analytics section and add them to the two available fields. Afterward, load your page in a different browser and double-check that the visit appears in both Facebook and Google Analytics.
